He was raised on the Waywayseecappo First Nation until the age of 17. In his elementary school years he attended school in Rossburn, MB, and for a short period of time he attended school in Brandon, MB. After, he attended Waywayseecappo School until grade 8. Wallace married the love of his life Bev on August 19, 1995 at the age of 29 in Swan River, MB. They shared 7 children together and lived the majority of their life together on an acreage outside of Bowsman, MB. Throughout their marriage they lived in Winnipeg, Swan River, Kenville, Minitonas and Waywayseecappo. Wallace and Bevs main priority was their children and grandchildren. Grampa never had any rules when it came to his grandchildren and never had any plans, but there was always unexpected fun for his kids and grandkids. Wallace worked many places in different areas of work. He was everything from A to Z, he was so amazing and extremely skillful in everything he did. In 1999, after moving to Waywayseecappo with his wife and family he worked as maintenance. After some encouragement, he then decided to run for Chief and was proudly elected where he served one term and was later elected and served as Councilor until 2015. Wallace was very business minded; he owned and operated his own septic and tow truck businesses with his brother Kenneth, at the same time Wallace also worked as a medical van driver and a bus driver. Wallace was constantly busy and you could always find him outside working on his trucks or enjoying his horses. He always had something fun and spontaneous up his sleeve for his family. He enjoyed taking his family on wagon and sleigh rides, horse rides, quad trips, and out to eat at different places. Wallace loved family time and loved to joke and make people laugh, he always had a smile on his face. Wallace had a great deal of respect for his elders and friends and had a close bond with his aunties and siblings. He loved to feed people; his Sundays were spent visiting everybody who dropped in for a visit or a bite to eat. The family of Wallace would like to thank anyone who reached out with kind words and gestures during our time of grief. To know him is to love him A traditional wake was held from the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre, Swan River, MB on Thursday, June 23, 2016 beginning at 5:00 pm and continued until the Funeral Service on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 am with Deacon Conrad Plante officiating.
