My Project
With an Apple iPad tablet and pencil, I will be able to provide opportunities for activities which can be completed by students of all skill levels and learning styles. By donating to my project, you will help improve and increase student attention and focus, as well as help increase their academic achievement. I am so excited to have more ways to teach and engage my students through this technology. I plan to use apps such as google classroom and suite, jupiter grades, gizmos and other online lab platforms, and edpuzzle.
Some ways I plan to integrate the IPad to enhance student learning and performance include:
-Providing more interactive lessons which helps students visualize complex biological processes and concepts, making learning more engaging and effective.
- Using JupiterGrades this year as a grade-book, for attendance, and parent communication. The iPad will help me connect with parents more easily and update grades in real-time. In addition, having an Ipad will enable me to generate and share digital progress reports and feedback with parents.
-Creating quizzes, tests, and assignments electronically. Platforms like Google Forms, mentimeter and quiziz/kahoot help facilitate immediate grading and feedback, helping students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
-Accessing professional development resources, joining online communities, and staying updated with the latest teaching strategies and advancements in biology education. This year our school will be teaching the new regents Biology course mandated by New York state. Having access to resources provided by New visions, New York State Department of Education, and NGSS will be essential.
